RDF West, a Banijay UK company, has announced that ITV has commissioned a bumper 61-hour 3-series order of Dickinson’s Real Deal, including a 17th 45-hour Daytime series as well as two spin off series – Dickinson’s Biggest and Best Deals (10 x 60’) and Dickinson’s Real Deal Winners (6 x 30’). The three series will be produced out of Bristol.
In Dickinson’s Biggest And Best Deals David Dickinson chooses his favourite 100 deals from the 10,000 he has watched over during the show’s 14-year, 1,200-show history to date. From toughest hagglers to strangest objects, biggest cash deals and auction winners, there are plenty to select from the £2.5million worth of deals which have taken place on the show so far. However, the secret of the show’s success and longevity is not just about beautiful antiques and big money deals, but also the often curious, unwanted and discarded collectables which people bring to the show, the strange and fascinating stories behind them, the tough battles between dealers and sellers and the often surprising ways the show’s contributors choose to spend their cash winnings.
In Dickinson’s Real Deal Winners each themed episode of this shoulder-peak series will see David count down his personal top five favourites, from most beautiful items to favourite characters, biggest cash winners to bargain buys and top auction results. David Dickinson and his team never know what will come through their doors on each Dealers’ Day and this show is a chance to enjoy some of the show’s’ most memorable highlights.
Mark Hill, Head of RDF West & Executive Producer said:
“We’re delighted to be continuing our valued production partnership with ITV on Dickinson’s Real Deal and having the opportunity for the show to reach new audiences and slots at a time when it also continues to perform strongly in its traditional daytime slots.”
Lara Akeju, Commissioning Editor, ITV Daytime said:
“David Dickinson is a firm fan favourite here at ITV and so we’re thrilled to have commissioned such bumper content this summer.”
All three series were commissioned by Lara Akeju for ITV and are Executive Produced by Mark Hill at RDF West. RDF West is part of the Banijay and all worldwide rights to the show are owned by Banijay Rights.
