Lost and Found in the Lakes, made by Wrexham-based production company Tŷ’r Ddraig (part of Banijay UK’s Workerbee Group), is returning for a third series, with an extended 20 episode run.

The BBC One Daytime and BBC iPlayer programme follows Helen and her amazing team of divers and detectorists, as they return to the stunning Lake District, ready to take on the almighty challenge of locating peoples lost, treasured possessions, they’d feared were gone for good.

The upcoming series will continue to build on the show’s heartwarming success stories, some of which include  reuniting a couple with their beloved engagement ring, lost over 60 years ago, finding a treasured bronze elephant in the depths of Windermere after a devastating boat fire, and raising a prized pewter tankard, submerged deep in Ullswater, but  found in less than 5 minutes!

Back at the boathouse base, Helen’s team also includes a social media detective and an archaeologist, who are perfectly placed to investigate any chance finds found on the fells or in the waters, as well as discover the intriguing history of objects unearthed. Last series, they miraculously traced the family of a 1938 cycle medal, found by a detectorist and tracked down the owner of a phone dredged from Windermere, who turned out to be from thousands of miles away in Colorado.

Finally, when the team turn up long forgotten finds or discarded junk, some of the area’s most talented craftspeople are standing by to transform this collected rubbish into stunning works of art.

The whole of the Lost and Found team is poised to go again, filming across this summer, they’re hoping to find even more precious possessions, as well tracking down grateful owners up and down the country.

Lost and Found in the Lakes is commissioned for BBC One Daytime and iPlayer by Rob Unsworth, Head of BBC Daytime and Early Peak Commissioning, the Commissioning Editor is Alex McLeod. The programme is made by Tŷ’r Ddraig, the Executive Producer is Zoe Thorman, and the Creative Director is Ben Smith.

Lost and Found in the Lakes will return to BBC One and BBC iPlayer in 2027.
